Solar, battery and EV charging in one reliable monthly picture.

Illustration only: values and arrows in the artwork are examples, not Fox ESS live data. Your actual savings are calculated below from readings you enter. Solar panels will be installed on the rear roof.

Ready for your first month. Your installation and forecast are prefilled, but there are no invented readings. Start when the Fox ESS and energy accounts have real data.

Data quality & checks
What counts as savings? PV electricity used at home avoids an assumed import cost; exported energy earns cash; grid-charged battery energy may avoid peak prices. EV night charging is shown as an additional tariff advantage, not part of the installation payback.
ONE MONTH AT A TIME
Log your readings.
Leave unknown figures blank. Zero means a genuine zero.
Monthly energy entry
Readings refer to the full calendar month. Prices are saved with each entry.
YOUR HISTORY
Monthly log.
Review, adjust, and keep a backup of every month's figures.
All recorded months
Benefit = estimated solar + battery value, plus export receipts, minus optional system running costs.
Data portability
Download a full JSON backup, including rates and entries. Keep a copy outside this browser — especially on iPhone, because private browsing and local-file storage can be cleared.
Restore a previously exported JSON file. This replaces your current data after confirmation.

Important calculation notes
Solar self-use: If usable solar consumption is not supplied directly, estimate solar generation less export, adjusted for battery losses where battery flow data permits. Fox Cloud's own “self-consumption” can include energy sent into the battery before losses.
Battery: Grid-charged battery savings count only when grid-to-battery charge and discharge are logged; discharge is capped using the efficiency assumption. Battery charging is already part of your grid import, so it isn't subtracted again from the E.ON bill.
EV: Off-peak EV benefit is compared against the peak price as a hypothetical alternative, separate from solar-system payback. Charging kWh alone is not a saving.
Standing charges: Accounted for in the electricity cost estimate, not deducted from installation savings unless they are genuinely additional system costs.
Installer target: approximately £1,000 per year. Monthly model bars are seasonally weighted using indicative solar output weights, not a precise installer cashflow schedule. The forecast starts in November 2026; update the start date in the code if commissioning is later. A few winter months cannot establish a reliable annual return.
Actual vs estimated: Solar avoided cost and battery optimisation are calculated scenarios; Fuse receipts and an E.ON bill are actual cash amounts only when you enter them. The dashboard is not a substitute for a controlled pre/post-install comparison.
